\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4916f63a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4916f63a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Bertha Amalia Fierro Correa es una investigadora que, desde el a\u00f1o 2020, se desempe\u00f1a como jefa del Laboratorio de Contaminantes Met\u00e1licos del Centro para la Investigaci\u00f3n de Recursos Acu\u00e1ticos (CIRA) UNAN-Managua. La profesional, originaria de Granada, es licenciada en Qu\u00edmica y graduada de la maestr\u00eda Regional Centroamericana en Ciencias del Agua con \u00c9nfasis en Calidad del Agua, que coordina este Centro. <\/p><p>Desde su ingreso al CIRA UNAN-Managua, en 2008, Fierro se ha desempe\u00f1ado como especialista en an\u00e1lisis en los laboratorios de Aguas Residuales y Mercurio Ambiental, oportunidades que, sumado al fortalecimiento de capacidades mediante la educaci\u00f3n continua, le permiten liderar a un equipo de profesionales conformado por mujeres, que est\u00e1n a cargo de desarrollar acciones encaminadas a brindar respuestas a desaf\u00edos medioambientales, en particular en el tema del mercurio.<\/p><p>La m\u00e1ster Fierro comenta que su vinculaci\u00f3n con el Centro comenz\u00f3 durante la realizaci\u00f3n de su trabajo monogr\u00e1fico, para lo cual se le facilit\u00f3 el uso del Laboratorio de Mercurio Ambiental. \u00abEn la medida que he venido trabajando aqu\u00ed, he logrado fortalecer capacidades para seguir aportando a las iniciativas dirigidas al cuido de nuestros recursos naturales\u00bb, expresa. <\/p><p>En los diecis\u00e9is a\u00f1os que lleva laborando en el CIRA UNAN-Managua, se ha integrado a la labor docente en grado y posgrado, contribuyendo a la formaci\u00f3n de profesionales nacionales y de la regi\u00f3n. Participa en la ejecuci\u00f3n del Proyecto Educaci\u00f3n Ambiental para la Protecci\u00f3n del lago Xolotl\u00e1n, con el cual se busca fortalecer en ni\u00f1os de primaria los valores de amor y cuido de los recursos h\u00eddricos mediante el manejo adecuado de los residuos.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-88644\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-4.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-4-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-4-1024x546.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-4-768x410.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/p><p>De igual forma, ha sido parte del equipo de docentes facilitadores de las dos ediciones del Curso de tercer pa\u00eds sobre la Determinaci\u00f3n de Mercurio en Muestras Ambientales, en el que participan profesionales de Centroam\u00e9rica y Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, programa que aporta el desarrollo de nuevas experiencias y destrezas en la determinaci\u00f3n de mercurio total y metilmercurio en muestras ambientales. <\/p><p>Durante su trayectoria profesional, ha participado en investigaciones como \u00abValidaci\u00f3n del M\u00e9todo de la Ortofenantrolina en la determinaci\u00f3n de hierro en extractos foliares\u00bb; as\u00ed como en proyectos entre los que destacan el \u00abProyecto para el fortalecimiento de capacidades anal\u00edticas en el estudio y an\u00e1lisis del mercurio en Nicaragua\u00bb, que se llev\u00f3 a cabo con el JICA, MINSA, MARENA, CIRA\/UNAN-Managua, y el Proyecto Niveles de mercurio en peces en sitios de pesca del r\u00edo Tipitapa. <\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s, llev\u00f3 a cabo el Proyecto Evaluaci\u00f3n del Desempe\u00f1o de un M\u00e9todo Anal\u00edtico de Rutina para la Determinaci\u00f3n y Cuantificaci\u00f3n de Mercurio Total en muestras Ambientales por Espectrofotometr\u00eda de Absorci\u00f3n At\u00f3mica por Generaci\u00f3n de Vapor Fr\u00edo (CVAAS), y trabaja en la elaboraci\u00f3n de informes t\u00e9cnicos enfocados a la calidad de agua. <\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-88643\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-2.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-2-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-2-1024x546.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.unan.edu.ni\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bertha-Fierro-destacada-investigadora-cientifica-y-deportista-2-768x410.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/p><p>Desde los 13 a\u00f1os, Bertha Amalia participa en actividades deportivas, pasi\u00f3n que hered\u00f3 de su familia, quienes tradicionalmente han practicado deportes, su padre Luis Beltr\u00e1n Fierro Rodr\u00edguez form\u00f3 parte de la Selecci\u00f3n Nacional de B\u00e9isbol, su trabajo ha sido reconocido en el sal\u00f3n de la fama. Fierro se integr\u00f3 a selecciones infantiles, juveniles, escolares, universitarias y mayores de voleibol, con excelentes resultados.\u00a0<\/p><p>En 2011, se retir\u00f3 de esta faceta, retomando a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s esta disciplina con el equipo de la UNAN-Managua en los Juegos Nacionales de Docentes, actualmente, tambi\u00e9n practica atletismo en relevo 4 por 200 y mil metros. \u00abEs un orgullo representar a la Universidad, quien tiene identidad institucional siempre tendr\u00e1 ese sentimiento y agradezco la oportunidad de poder
